JOHANNESBURG – Transport Minister Barbara Creecy is inspecting roadworks on the R21 in Johannesburg.
The major route leads directly to OR Tambo International Airport.
Sanral set aside over R300-million to partially reconstruct around 14 kilometres of tarmac.
The work is being done from Pomona Road near the airport to Olifantsfontein towards Pretoria.
Repairs began in February and is expected to last around 24 months.
The R21 is a major artery with a daily volume of 45,000 vehicles in each direction.
Minister Creecy will also fix potholes in Tsakane as part of the Vala-Zonke pothole repair initiative.
